The William Penn University women's soccer squad (7-7-3) routed Mount Mercy (8-7-1) 3-0 on Saturday at Lacey. The Statesmen will now take on Grand View at home in the MCC Quarterfinals.

Penn jumped out to a 2-0 lead, eight minutes into the game. We’ll fast forward to the 40th minute and it’s junior Silvia Munoz dribbling down the right flank as she places a perfect cross for freshman Monique Nogueira who knocks it in for the Statesmen, 3-0 Penn on top, and that’s game.

William Penn cruises to a 3-0 victory over the Mustangs (0-5-1, MCC). The win means Penn finishes fourth in the conference standings (3-2-1, MCC) and will now host Grand View (8-7-2, 2-2-2 MCC) in the quarterfinals of the MCC Tournament next Saturday. William Penn tied Grand View 0-0 earlier in the season. Penn has not hosted a conference tournament match since 2005.
