Sticking with Statesmen news, a former Penn football standout recently received a prestigious recognition. Damon Harrison was named to the Associated Press' NFL All-Pro Team as one of two interior linemen selected. The All-Pro Team is an annual selection of the best players in the NFL by position. This is the first All-Pro selection for the four-year veteran.
In his first year with the New York Giants, Harrison tallied a career-high 86 total tackles, 2.5 sacks and a forced fumble. Those numbers might not seem gaudy, but Harrison is regarded as an elite run-stopper in NFL circles. Snacks, as he's commonly known, has made eating up running backs a habit. Harrison helped anchor a strong defense en route to an NFC Wild Card playoff berth. Unfortunately for Snacks and the Giants last Sunday, their season came to an end with a 38-13 loss at Lambeau Field to Green Bay. Harrison ended his strong 2016 NFL season with five total tackles in a losing effort. |
